Chippa United striker Rodney Ramagalela got the shock of his life when he received calls in the early hours of Tuesday morning to inform him that his house caught fire and was burning.
Ramagalela’s eight-room house with a double garage burned down around 04:30am in Mamvuka, Limpopo.
The Ramagalela family has since asked for any kind of donation from the public after losing everything in their house that caught fire.
“Rodney Ramagalela and his family wish to thank South Africans and the football fraternity for their overwhelming support in their time of need,” said the statement released by the family today.
“The Ramagalelas are still coming to terms with the painful loss after their family home burnt to ashes in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Mamvuka village in Limpopo’s Vhembe district, in a suspected arson attack.
The striker shared the home with his blind father Frans and four siblings. Thankfully no one was home at the time of the fire.”
Meanwhile, Ramagalela has placed his full confidence in law enforcement to investigate the cause of the fire.
“Currently the family is awaiting a preliminary report from the South African Police Services (SAPS) on what exactly caused the fire.
“The family has full confidence in law enforcement authorities to bring those involved in the heartless attack to book,” Ramagalela added.
