Kaizer Chiefs have announced that they have parted ways with former Head of the academy, Cavin Johnson, as part of the club’s restructuring.
In a statement on Monday, Chiefs said Johnson’s departure is part of a restructuring ahead of the new season.
“Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to an amicable parting of ways with the head of the academy, Cavin Johnson.”
“The departure is part of the restructuring process that the club is undertaking. We wish to thank Johnson for his contribution to Kaizer Chiefs and wish him well in the future.”
Johnson was moved from head of the academy to replace head coach Molefi Ntseki as caretaker coach after a string of poor results at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
However Chiefs suffered their worst DStv Premiership finish of 10th, also going to their unprecedented ninth season without a trophy.
Chiefs are expected to appoint 58-year-old Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi as its new coach, with the club saying it will make an announcement soon.
Johnson, 65, has been in charge of 22 games across all competitions. In those 22 matches, he won six games, drew eight and lost eight in the process.
