The 2024 CAF Awards final three nominees for Men’s Player of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year will be announced this Thursday 12 December 2024.
The annual CAF Awards will happen on 16 December 2024 at a glittering event taking place in Marrakech, Morocco, where the finest African footballers, coaches and administrators on the planet will gather to crown the best of the best. The 2024 CAF Awards cover the period from January to October this year.
Brighton & Hove Albion winger Simon Adingra (Ivory Coast), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea/Borussia Dortmund), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria/Atalanta) and Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns) have all been lined up for the CAF Awards 2024 Player of the Year Top Prize.
Williams, who placed ninth in the Yashin Trophy, the award that crowns the best goalkeeper in the world at the Ballon d’Or, has also been shortlisted in the Goalkeeper of the Year category.
Zambia’s Barbra Banda leads the women’s five-player shortlist for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award for spectacular goal-poaching abilities for the club and country.
The other four outstanding women who have been shortlisted for the prestigious CAF Women’s Player of the Year include the dynamic sisters Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga (Malawi), Sanaâ Mssoudy (Morocco) and Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria).
