The South African Football Association (SAFA) and technical sponsor Le Coq Sportif have announced the conclusion of their five-year partnership.
French sportswear brand Le Coq Sportif has been SAFA’s technical sponsor since 2000.
But the two parties’ marriage will not go beyond 2025, according to the local football governing body.
“Our relationship started with many challenges but inspired a lot of on-field success for all our national teams, specifically our senior teams, Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana,” said SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao.
Ernst van den Berg, Director of Le Coq Sportif South Africa, added: ‘We are proud of the role we played in supporting South African football during this period and the memories we created together. From ground-breaking kit designs to shared historic achievements, it has been a privilege to stand alongside SAFA and the players who inspire the nation.”
“We want to thank Le Coq Sportif for the partnership and we wish them well in their future endeavours.”
This comes after Bafana Bafana having been spruced up by qualification for the World Cup, as other South African national teams have also been doing well.
The Under-20s have just returned from the 2025 FIFA World Cup in Chile, while Banyana Banyana have been to the global tournament of women’s football.
