Sandton City Mall has confirmed the tragic death of a woman who is believed to have taken her own life jumping to her death, plunging herself several floors down to the ground.
In a statement on their social media channels, the mall’s management confirmed that an individual jumped to their death at around 12:04pm on Saturday afternoon.
The identity, age and gender of the individual have not been released yet, and information surrounding the suicide is still sketchy as the South African Police Service are currently investigating the incident.

Sandton City Management have since expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
The latest incident comes just a month after similarly, a 19-year-old matric learner also took her own life by jumping to her death from inside the mall, in full view of eyewitnesses, who were left traumatised.
