Load shedding has been reduced to Stage 3, which will be implemented from 16:00 on Friday until 05:00 on Saturday, Eskom said in a statement on Friday.
Thereafter, Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Saturday.
This pattern will continue daily until further notice. Eskom will publish another update should any major changes take place.
Eskom said that breakdowns are currently at 15,901MW of generating capacity, whilst the generating capacity out for planned maintenance stand at 4,014MW.
Over the last day, a generating unit at Camden Power Station was returned to service.
However, a generating unit at Matla and two generating units at Camden and Kriel power stations were also taken offline for repairs.
The embattled power utility added that returning a generating unit at Kendal and two generating units at Tutuka power stations are adding to the current power constraints.
Eskom has once again called on South Africans to reduce their demand by switching off non-essential appliances, thanking South Africans who have turned off their geysers and pool pumps from 17h00 to 21h00.
