The Proteas has demolished England by an innings and 12 runs before tea on the third day of the first test at Lord’s.
The South Africans were superb with the ball, rolling England for 149 in their second innings with Anrich Nortje (3/37), Kagiso Rabada (2/27), Keshav Maharaj (2/35) and Marco Jansen (2/13) leading the way.
South Africa lost their last three first-innings wickets in the morning session, dismissed for 326, and they never looked back.
By the end of the match, Lord’s was silenced as the ‘Bazball’ era of coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes tasted defeat for the first time.
For the Proteas, this win is up there with one of the greatest of coach Mark Boucher’s reign.
The bowling attack was hugely impressive, with England’s heavyweights having no answer.
The win gives the Proteas a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
