SuperSport United moved to within two points of DStv Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after edging Cape Town City 2-1.
SuperSport made three changes, as Bongani Khumalo got a rare start alongside the return of Keenan Phillips and Jamie Webber while the Citizens were bolstered by the return of Thamsanqa Mkhike and Abbubaker Mobara.
Matsatsantsa took a lead in the 23rd minute after Evans Rusike beat the offside trap to go through on the right wing, beat his marker and played a cut-back inside the box that was slotted in at the bottom corner by Ghampani Lungu, 1-0.
The Citizens had a good start in the second stanza as Bradley Ralani pulled them level two minutes from the break with a cracking right-footed strike from the edge of the box that came off the underside of the crossbar at the near post and hit the back side of goalkeeper Ronwen Williams into the back of the net.
Thamsanqa Gabuza gave SuperSport a 2-1 lead in the last ten minutes just after coming on with a looping header over the onrushing goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh after a headed flick on by Grobler from Williams’ long ball.

Meanwhile ten-man Bloemfontein Celtic held Chippa United to a 1-1 draw in a 2020-21 DStv Premiership match at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday afternoon.
