KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) suspected fraudsters Nzuzo Njilo and his co-accused Kwanda Ntshangase were granted bail at the Port Shepstone Magistrates Court.
Njilo and his co-accused appeared for a second time in court on Friday.
It’s alleged the duo pretended to be truck salesmen two years ago on the KZN south coast.
They’re accused of taking and disappearing with a substantial amount of money from an unsuspecting buyer whose vehicle was never delivered.
A warrant of arrest was issued for the pair last week.
Ntshangase was first to hand himself over to police last week Thursday, with Njilo doing the same four days later.
The bail conditions are for both men to report to their nearest police stations twice a week, refrain from leaving the country or commit any other offences.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in KwaZulu-Natal, Natasha Kara, says the pair will be back in court in June.
“Following the bail application, accused one was granted bail of R3 000, while accused two was granted bail of R30 000. They were both given bail conditions. The matter returns to court on 20 June 2023 for further investigation.”
Njilo is married to influencer and reality TV star Faith Nketsi. The couple tied the knot in a lavish traditional wedding in April last year and they have a daughter.
In October last year Njilo appeared at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for fraud after failing to deliver copper concentrate to the owners of Lund Industries worth almost R1 million.
Owners of the company dragged him to court and obtained a court order to attach his movable assets to repay monies owed. Njilo’s bank accounts were frozen and his home furniture, which included beds, a fridge, a TV and couches was only worth R35 000.
