Swallows FC have completed their first signing of the transfer window with the acquisition of defender Keegan Allen on a two-year contract from second-tier University of Pretoria.
The 21-year-old is a former graduate of the Mamelodi Sundowns academy, having started as a junior with BidVest Wits, but made his professional debut with AmaTuks last season.
He was a key element in them reaching the PSL’s Promotion/Relegation Play-Offs, as well as their run to the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup, making 26 appearances in all competitions.
He is mostly a right-back but can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder.
Swallows are rebuilding after their flirtation with relegation last season, which included meeting AmaTuks in their Play-Offs.
Allen is also a junior international for South Africa and a player a number of teams have had their eye on him in the last six months.
