Wits University shared a post on X, congratulating one of their own, Thato Dithebe for completing his Bachelor of Science (BSC) in Civil Engineering.
Dithebe is from Mogale City, Krugersdorp in the West Rand.
In a short statement the university said, “Our graduate, Thato Dithebe, who recently earned a BSc in Civil Engineering, is not only a talented actor on House of Zwide but also an academic achiever.”
He initially weaved his way into the entertainment industry 15 years ago by securing commercial gigs and bagging cameo roles on shows such as Soul Buddyz and Rhythm City.
Now 23, Dithebe has managed to make his mark in the entertainment industry with his first-ever big role as Neo on eTV’s House of Zwide. With this feat, the budding actor hopes to solidify his name even more with his new role as Lebogang on Mzansi Magic’s soccer-inspired drama series, Champions.
He is acting alongside a star-studded cast, which includes veteran actors Sello Maake ka-Ncube, Tumisho Masha, Kgomotso Christopher and Jo-anne Reyneke.
The show also features in-demand actors Kwenzo Ngcobo and Thembinkosi Mthembu as well as breakout stars Rethabile Mohapi and Minkie Malatji.
Dithebe not only honed his skills as an actor and presenter but in high school, he developed a passion for dancing and participated in various events and competitions.
