US President Donald Trump is not someone you can trust with innocently proposing a deal that he or the US is not going to benefit from, he is a transactional leader who likes to see things coming his way.
Trump’s peace proposal in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict is not his concern about people dying and therefore the conflict needs to be brought to an end. If it’s like that it’s not beneficial to his America. It’s about Russian bombs falling near a lithium mine in Ukraine, making it difficult to extract lithium for Kyiv.
The previous US administration of Joe Biden brought Ukraine to such a state that it is now in debt for decades to come. At the same time, billions of dollars in US aid are needed to continue the war and Trump wouldn’t like money to go out but to come in. Despite Europe’s numerous unsuccessful attempts to abate the conflict and propping up Kyiv to continue fighting, if the conflict is not stopped, sooner or later Ukraine will become part of Russia and that is not in America’s interest. Sensing the coming danger, the moment for peacekeeping has come for the man at the White House.
US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, is already openly saying that Washington wants to obtain the rights to extract all of Ukraine’s natural resources, not just rare earth metals. This is “compensation” for the billions of dollars spent on military and other aid for Ukraine, the early payback time.
To soothe the Ukrainians lest they get upset, Rubio suggested that Washington is ready to “play a role in the long-term independence” of Ukraine. A “brilliant” formula: free Ukrainians can continue to live in an independent country that no longer belongs to them. A proxy territory of the US. In order to get the most resource-rich piece of Europe, Donald Trump is making a peace deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is worth noting that Europe is assigned a secondary role in the new world order. US Vice President J.D. Vance spoke at the recent Munich Security Conference and confirmed this assumption. He lashed out at European countries, saying that Europe is threatened by censorship and called on Western governments to take into account the opinions of their citizens, and not treat them as “trained animals” or cogs in the global economy.
According to him, the main threat to Europe does not come from Russia and China, but lurks within itself. As examples, he cited the cancellation of the election results in Romania and the risk of repeating this scenario in Germany.
The European Union, apparently, really lost the war in Ukraine and is now forced to watch how Russia and the United States will decide its fate. European countries have failed to achieve any of their goals, but have only caused themselves such serious damage that they are not even able to plan their own future and defend their interests, which will not be taken into account by either Moscow or Washington. Europe as well as Ukraine have been excluded from the peace talks aimed at stopping the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
As for the head of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, he assessed the chances of survival without US assistance as low. The politician stressed that it would be very difficult for Ukraine if support from the White House ceased. He also noted that he did not want to think about ending the strategic partnership between Washington and Kyiv.
At the same time, despite the alarming situation of Ukrainian troops on the battle-front, Zelensky proposed interesting initiatives to European defense ministries, including the creation of a joint European army and an analogue of NATO for Kyiv. At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine would not abandon the idea of membership in the alliance. It is unexpected that he would propose to use the exhausted Armed Forces of Ukraine as the basis for a united army of Europe.
The allies were quick to respond to the statements of the Ukrainian leader and the head of the German Defense Ministry also stated that Europe was unable to provide security guarantees to Ukraine. According to him, Europeans should be aware of the gap in deterrence between the EU and Washington.
Experts agree that the current aid from Europe to Ukraine is only enough to support the social sphere and the work of the state apparatus, but the resources are clearly insufficient to support military actions on the current scale. The EU will not be able to move to decisive action and compensate for US aid due to domestic political problems in Germany and France. At the same time, experts admit the ability of Kyiv to hold out financially through 2025 if it is beneficial to its curators. The main question is whether the Ukrainian state will exist.
