Bayern Munich Football Club and head coach Thomas Tuchel have confirmed that that they will part ways at the end of the season.
“We have agreed that we will end our working relationship at the end of this season. Until then, I will of course continue to do everything I can with my coaching staff to achieve maximum success, said Tuchel.”
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also commented on the decision, adding: “In an open, good conversation we came to the decision to mutually end our collaboration in the summer. Our goal is to carry out a sporting realignment with a new coach for the 2024/25 season.”
“Until then, every individual in the club is expressly challenged to achieve the maximum possible in the Champions League and the Bundesliga.
“I also explicitly hold the team responsible. Especially in the Champions League, we are convinced after the defeat at Lazio we will advance to the quarter-finals with our fans behind us.”
FC Bayern are currently eight points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen and have lost their last three games in all competitions.
Tuchel succeeded Julian Nagelsmann in the FC Bayern hot seat in March 2023 and led the Bavarian giants to an 11th straight Bundesliga crown just two months later.
