Two people have been killed and one was injured after a horrific accident on the N2 northbound, near the NPC Cement Factory in Durban on Saturday night.
ALS Paramedic Services officials on the scene found that a minibus and a bakkie had collided, with one person still trapped in one of the vehicles.
“He sustained multiple injuries and was declared deceased on the scene. One other person was also found on the scene having sustained fatal injuries,” said ALS spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
Jamieson said traffic was severely affected, as only the slow lane was open for vehicles to trickle through.
“The freeway was then closed from the M1 Higginson Highway to allow emergency personnel to complete their work. At this stage, it is unclear what caused the accident,” Jamieson said.
