A 20-year old woman tragically lost her life during a robbery in Temong section, Tembisa, East of Johannesburg on Monday morning, SA Police Services (SAPS) confirmed.
Fullview learnt she was shot at about 05:45 in Mapungubwe Street during an alleged robbery.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said the woman was reportedly on her way to work when she was shot and killed during robbery.
Muridili said the woman’s belongings were taken during the incident.
“The deceased has been identified; however, her family is yet to be formally notified.”
“Preliminary investigations have not established any link between this incident and the recent cases involving the bodies of women found in Ekurhuleni.”
“No one has been arrested yet, and the police are following up on leads,” Muridili added.

Meanwhile the death toll from a tavern shooting over the weekend near Johannesburg has risen to 18 after another victim died in hospital.
The shooting happened late on Saturday when suspects armed with AK-47 rifles opened fire at the tavern in Wedela township, West of Johannesburg.
The owner of the tavern said police can use CCTV footage from her establishment to identify the killers because the shooters were captured.
SAPS said in a statement that four of those killed had so far been identified: two South Africans and two nationals of Lesotho.
Violent crime remains a major challenge in South Africa despite efforts to curb one of the world’s highest per-capita murder rates.
There were 5,427 homicides in South Africa in the latest three-month period between April and June at an average of nearly 60 homicides a day, according to official police statistics.
Shootings are the most common form of homicide in South Africa, and police and crime experts have long said one of the biggest problems is a high number of illegal firearms in circulation.
