Kaizer Chiefs and left back Edmilson Gabriel Wome will part ways when his contract expires at the end of June 2025.
Chiefs has already announced three departures so far, with Sabele Radebe and Ranga Chivaviro being released by the club, while Njabulo Blom’s loan was not extended.
“Kaizer Chiefs and defender Edmilson Dove will part ways when his contract expires at the end of June,” the club stated.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Edmilson for his contributions to the Club and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Wome’s time at Chiefs has been notable, particularly in helping the club win the Nedbank Cup in 2025 against Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, ending a 10-year trophy drought.
The former Cape Town City defender signed a two-year deal with the Chiefs in 2022, which ended last season. The deal included an option for a one-year extension, which was exercised for the 2024/25 season.
This season has been challenging for Dove, who suffered an injury during the pre-season and has played only eight league games since his recovery.
