The former Ukhozi FM radio personality Linda ‘Mr Magic’ Sibiya has joined the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
The announcement was made on Wednesday by EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu.
Shivambu revealed the news of his recruitment in post on X (formerly known as Twitter) and described him as a “dutiful member who is committed to the ground”
Sibiya has joined the party’s ward 25 in eThekwini.

Among those who welcomed him are Mongezi Thwala, the party provincial chair in KwaZulu-Natal.
Sibiya commands a large support base in the entertainment sector in KwaZulu-Natal which he amassed during his time working for the SABC-owned radio station based in Durban.
His move to the EFF was speculated over the weekend when he launched a scathing attack on ANC MECs.
Sibiya made his radio debut back in 1995 and has been one of the most recognisable voices on the South African airwaves.
He was fired from Ukhozi FM in 2014, with his affiliation to the ruling party among the grievances against him at the time.
On Monday, the EFF was also joined by advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, the former Public Protector who recently lost her job after she was impeached.
