Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 150th Serie A goal as AC Milan inflicted Jose Mourinho’s first home defeat in the Italian top flight with a 2-1 win over AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday to keep pace with Serie A leaders Napoli.
The 40-year-old striker rifled a low free kick into the bottom corner in the 25th minute to put the visitors ahead after a lively start, his 400th goal in total in domestic leagues.
Ibrahimovic, 40, opened the scoring with a free-kick and Franck Kessie converted from the spot after Roma’s Roger Ibanez fouled the Swede.
Theo Hernandez was sent off for Milan, with Stephan El Shaarawy scoring in added time against his former club.
Earlier on Sunday, Napoli edged to a 1-0 win at struggling Salernitana and, like Milan, have won 10 of their first 11 games this term.
Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic scored a hat-trick to fire his seventh-placed side to a 3-0 win over a Spezia team stuck in the relegation zone. Fiore have 18 points.
Victory leaves Milan second, level on 31 points with leaders Napoli, and 12 points ahead of fourth-placed Roma.
