Lalela Mswane has been crowned the new Miss South Africa 2021.

Mswane 24,is a model and dancer that also holds a Bachelor of Law qualification from the University of Pretoria.

A night filled with glitz, glamour and beauty. This year has been a rollercoaster ride for many around the country, but hundreds of South Africans filed into the Grand Arena at Grand West, while thousands tuned in to witness the crowning of the new Miss SA.

While all ten women stunned, strutting their stuff for the judges and wowing the audience with their incredible beauty and personality, the nail-biting run-up to the final announcement saw the top three come in the form of Lalela Mswane, Moratwe Masima and Zimi Mabunzi.

However, there could only be one winner with Shudufhadzo Musido crowning Mswane as her successor.

Lalela will now go forward to represent South Africa at the Miss World/Miss Universe pageants. Her journey to the crown that started about six ago, began with the new Miss SA putting her legal ambitions on hold to participate in the pageant.

In an earlier interview, she said, “now more than ever, the competition is about more than being just a beauty pageant. It is a platform for women. Competitors are phenomenal women from all walks of life who aspire to be heard. They are intelligent, worthy people who are gaining opportunities through their participation. The pageant is a potential launchpad for many things. You gain exposure, meet people you never would normally have met, and create networks that can result in opportunities that could otherwise never have arisen. The focus is on building women and tasking their lives to new levels.

Hailing from Bloemfontein, the young student will receive R1 million in cash, the use of a fully-furnished apartment at Central Square Sandton, and a Mercedes Benz C class sedan for the year of her reign.

Congratulations Lalela!
