The Orkney Magistrate’s Court has postponed the case against three men involved in the stabbing incident of Mark Hanscombe.

Hanscombe is the owner of Hanscombe’s Haven Holiday Resort in Orkney, North West.

Hanyane Ronauld Mei, 47, Danile Nxamakele, 35, and Pitso Radebe, 47, briefly appeared in court on Friday.

They have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance on Friday, 3 January 2025 for a formal bail application.

The suspects turned themselves in to the authorities on Tuesday, after an incident that left a 53-year-old resort owner fighting for his life.

The attack, which was caught of a video, took place on Reconciliation Day (16 December).

Fullview learnt that the suspects, part of a group enjoying a “hubbly-bubbly”, ignored repeated warnings from staff at the resort to stop smoking in a non-smoking area.

According to police, as tensions escalated and their behaviour became increasingly aggressive, the owner was called in to address the situation.

However,  when he confronted the group for the third time, he was attacked and stabbed multiple times.

The resort manager was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and later released on Monday, following intensive treatment.

The amateur video recording of the incident has been widely shared on various social media platforms.

Authorities have since urged the public to refrain from circulating unverified information, stressing that such actions can hinder police efforts and disrupt the investigation.
