SA Police Services launched a manhunt for the gunmen who killed six people in Ocean View, south of Cape Town, in a suspected gang-related attack.
A car is said to have pulled up outside a house on Neptune Lane on Wednesday.
Provincial police spokesperson Novela Potelwa says, “the occupants of the vehicle went inside the house and started shooting at individuals inside the premises.
Five men between the ages of 20 and 50 were, as a result, killed while a sixth person who was transported to a medical facility after sustaining gunshot wounds was confirmed as having died upon arrival in hospital,” she added.
“Anti-gang unit detectives are investigating six counts of murder with no arrests effected yet.”
Western Cape Police Oversight and Community Safety MEC Reagen Allen said he was deeply upset about the deadly shooting.
“As investigations are unfolding, I urge anyone with information to immediately share it with the SAPS so that the perpetrators can be arrested.
“Clearly, these are heartless criminals who do not deserve to be among us and should be behind bars.”
