Mamelodi Sundowns cruised to a 2-0 win over struggling Marumo Gallants at Loftus Versveld stadium in Tshwane on Wednesday evening, 19 August 2026.

Sundowns took the lead through Bathusi Aubaas, who headed a deep cross back across goal and 22-year-old defender Malibongwe Khoza showed great technique to volley the ball into the net from 12 yards.

There were defenders on the line, but the power of the shot went through them.

In-form Cassius Mailula added a stunning second goal just after the hour mark, making it three goals in four games since his return to the club in the off-season to seal a convincing win for Sundowns.

The hosts remain unbeaten and into third place, level on points with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in second and first respectively.

The Caf Champions League champions have now won their two PSL matches having beaten TS Galaxy 3-2, a week ago in Mbombela.

Sundowns now turn their attention on weekend’s MTN8 semi-final match against Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, where Mailula will be expected to shine again.

With the Tshwane faithful behind them, Sundowns know this is more than just a first leg — it’s about laying down a marker.

Sekhukhune United welcome Orlando Pirates to the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick-off is set for 3pm CAT, and the roar of Polokwane will set the tone for a tie dripping with tension.

On Saturday, 29 August, Pirates bring Sekhukhune to Orlando Amstel Arena. The following day Arrows host Sundowns at King Zwelithini Stadium.
